The conclusion or dissolution of a marriage can lead to various legal problems. If one of the spouses wants to separate, the conditions must be redefined. Who gets the house? Who gets custody of the children? Who pays how much for what?

In the event of separation, the conditions must be redefined at the latest when one of the spouses leaves. Who receives the accommodation? How much maintenance/alimony has to be paid? Who should be allowed to live with the children? In this emotionally charged situation, it is important to have a strong and empathetic contact person so that, if necessary, the separation issues can be settled by the courts (marital protection proceedings).

After a separation phase, the court can pronounce the divorce. This may be joint or contentious. In addition to the issues to be settled during the separation, the division of marital property must also be carried out, which can raise complicated legal questions, particularly in the case of joint ownership of property by the couple, as well as the division of the 2nd pillar.

Child and adult protection law aims to ensure the protection of persons who are unable to help themselves or seek the necessary assistance. Such persons in need of assistance include minor children or adults suffering from mental or psychological disabilities or addictions.
In principle, the child and adult protection authority is competent to order protective measures. These protective measures may be, for example, the establishment of guardianship or the placement of persons.
